Hey ladies, can we talk for a minute? As a mom of three, I know firsthand how much our unique strengths and perspectives are undervalued in the workplace. I’ve lost out on opportunities to less qualified male colleagues simply because I had kids and the assumption was that I’d be less committed. So frustrating, right?

But we need to fight back against that kind of blatant discrimination and lack of family support. We moms deserve to be represented in leadership roles across every field and industry. And I’m not just talking about the corporate boardrooms or cushiony management gigs.

We’re already total pros at juggling a million responsibilities and keeping our households running smoothly. Why shouldn’t we put those incredible multitasking skills to use in powerful positions that shape policies, drive cultural change, and prioritize supporting families? We deserve to have our voices amplified loud and clear.

That’s why I’m fighting the good fight by running my own business and working my way into top roles. No more letting outdated gender norms and biases hold us back!

Truthfully, moms have always been forces to be reckoned with in industries considered “masculine.” During World War II, my own grandmother was a Rosie the Riveter – she and a few friends went to California to work on building planes and do their part for the war effort.

But you know what? It’s time we stop just aiming for the corner offices. We need moms on construction sites, ocean oil rigs, firetrucks, and military frontlines too. Jobs that have sadly been dominated by men for far too long. If we can literally push tiny humans out of our bodies, then we’re definitely tough enough to take on any strenuous physical work or dangerous conditions that these “masculine” fields throw our way.

And by breaking into those spaces, we’d also be proving that hands-on parenting isn’t just a mom’s responsibility. When mom’s away on a weeks-long offshore shift, dad better be stepping up just as much at home with the kids. It’s a partnership, right?

The reality is, until we have plumbers, electricians, and Navy SEALS who are  moms, we’ll never achieve true equality and representation for families in this world. It’s time to start hustling in all those old boys’ clubs, my friends.

Who’s with me? Let’s get out there and start cracking those glass ceilings and helmets! Our families are counting on us to blaze new trails, no matter how tough the path may be. We’re moms – we’ve got this!
